On November 1, 2022, xFusion's liquid-cooled rack-scale servers obtained the world's first liquid-cooled server leakage-proof certificate issued by TÜV Rheinland Greater China (hereinafter referred to as TÜV Rheinland), which proves the industry-leading liquid-cooling reliability of xFusion's rack-scale servers.
For 150 years, TÜV Rheinland has been an independent and trusted third-party organization specializing in testing, inspection, and certification services. The organization is famous for its rigorous and high-quality testing and certification services. TÜV Rheinland’s professional evaluation on an impartial and independent basis ensures high security and quality of products.
Having undergone dozens of days of rigorous high-temperature accelerated aging tests, material tests, and verification, xFusion's liquid-cooled rack-scale servers gained the world's first liquid-cooled server leakage-proof certificate. Wang Guangjing, Director of MPE Dept at xFusion, Wang Dalin, R&D Director of Intelligent Data Center at xFusion, and Yang Jiajie, Vice President of Electronics and Electrical Product Services at TÜV Rheinland, attended the certificate awarding ceremony.
Modern electronic equipment requires efficient heat dissipation due to its high integration, high-density assembly, and high-speed operation. As the energy consumption of electronic equipment continuously increases, the research of heat dissipation technologies is being more important. Liquid cooling has emerged as a superior technology for data centers, surpassing traditional cooling methods.
In particular, cold-plate liquid cooling represents a significant advancement in heat dissipation. However, with the introduction of cooling liquid into the equipment room, a reliable liquid cooling system becomes imperative.
In the acceptance speech, Wang Guangjing said, "xFusion is a leading global provider of computing infrastructure and services with years of experience in server technologies. xFusion has conducted over 170 reliability tests for its unique cold-plate liquid-cooled server solution which has been successfully applied to the Internet, universities, cloud data centers, governments and enterprises, and finance industries, boosting digital transformation across industries. xFusion attaches great importance to the reliability of liquid cooling in R&D and commercial applications." He also expressed gratitude to TÜV Rheinland for their support and assistance in ensuring the security of the liquid-cooled rack-scale servers.
Yang Jiajie said, "over the past 150 years, TÜV Rheinland has been providing secure and sustainable solutions to challenges in interactions among the human, environment, and technologies, and has been committed to building a future that benefits both the human and environment. Recognizing the need for higher reliability in liquid cooling technology, TÜV Rheinland spent two years revising and validating its industry-leading reliability assessment solution for liquid cooling systems, which has gained widespread recognition from customers."
The certified xFusion liquid-cooled rack-scale server adopts overhead cabling and underfloor water piping and supports 100% liquid-cooling heat dissipation. The native liquid-cooling cabinet incorporates a three-level reliability design from boards to cabinets and equipment rooms. The design considers liquid cooling space, pipelines, and interfaces from the beginning, supporting high density, solid reliability, and easy O&M of the entire system.
During the certification testing, the rack server's liquid cooling system is rigorously tested in all aspects based on TÜV Rheinland's expertise, working principles of liquid cooling systems, and applicable international and industry standards.
The compatibility between the cold plate, cooling system, and cooling medium is tested through the temperature acceleration model. After accelerated aging of components, the safety and reliability of each component and leakage of the liquid cooling system are evaluated to determine the system's leakage prevention capability.
In the future, xFusion will continue to work with various authoritative organizations, including TÜV Rheinland, for technical exchanges and cooperation in reliability theories, test and verification methods, and standard establishment and construct a reliable liquid cooling system for a greener and safer computing industry.
