With the continuous implementation of the "dual carbon" policy, the requirements for data center energy efficiency are becoming more and more stringent, stimulating the pursuit for new technologies that improves energy conservation. At present, the advances of the liquid cooling technology and its commercial applications enable data centers to deliver a power usage effectiveness (PUE) close to 1.0, bringing infinite possibilities for energy saving in data centers.

xFusion will launch full liquid-cooled GPU next-generation servers that support the new liquid-cooled NVIDIA A100 PCIe GPUs, announced at COMPUTEX 2022, that not only meet the green, high-density, and high energy efficiency development requirements for modern data centers, but also bring an extremely powerful performance experience and promote the progress of the large-scale computing evolution in more industries.

The Liquid-Cooled NVIDIA A100 80GB PCIe GPU, sampling now and generally available this summer, is the first data center PCIe GPU using direct-chip cooling.

NVIDIA A100 PCIe Liquid-Cooled GPUs adopt single-width PCIe specification and provide better heat dissipation, enabling higher computing power in a smaller space. Compared to their air-cooled cousins, the liquid-cooled GPUs reduce power consumption by 30% and footprint by nearly 70%, minimizing carbon emissions for modern data centers while improving performance and sustainability.

Tang Qiming, President of FusionServer Domain of xFusion, said: "xFusion has over 10 years of rich experience in this field, with nearly 100 invention patents and many successful applications. In addition, our full liquid-cooled GPU servers not only meet the national environment protection and energy saving requirements, but also offer the most secure and intelligent full liquid cooling data center solution featuring full monitoring and full blind-mating, providing potential for unmanned data centers."

“NVIDIA adds to its sustainability efforts with the release of our first data center PCIe GPU using direct-chip cooling,” said Paresh Kharya, senior director of product management for accelerated computing at NVIDIA. “The liquid-cooled A100 PCIe will provide up to 30% higher energy efficiency while enabling up to 66% more rack density in mainstream accelerated servers.”

China's "Processing Eastern Data in the West" policy is in its full swing, which will form an integrated infrastructure pattern with well-distributed green data centers by 2025. By then, the average PUE of newly built large and hyperscale data centers will have dropped below 1.3, the PUE value for the critical data centers in national computing hubs will have dropped below 1.25, and the green and low-carbon grade will have reached 4A or above. xFusion will work with NVIDIA to provide green, innovative server products to support the construction of eco-friendly and energy-efficient data centers.
